How the tools work

Numbers you can trace back.

What each calculation includes, where its figures come from, and what it does not replace.

How the take-home is calculated

The freelancer receives the payment minus the FreelanX fee: 5% when the client was found on FreelanX, 1% when the freelancer brought the client. The company pays its own 5% on top. Tax is not included: it depends on the freelancer’s country.

Payment of $2,000, client found on FreelanXThe freelancer receives $1,900
Payment of $2,000, own clientThe freelancer receives $1,980
Company sideThe company pays $2,100
Example amounts, before any tax.

How the employer cost is calculated

Gross salary plus employer contributions, both at cost, plus the FreelanX EOR fee: $499 per employee per month billed yearly, or $549 billed monthly. A deposit of one month of salary applies to each employee.

Where the figures come from

Contribution rates, notice periods and holidays come from our country guides. Each figure carries its legal source and the month it was last checked.

What the tools do not do

They do not replace a quote: a proposal gives the exact amounts
They do not give tax advice
They are general information, not legal advice
