Start with the work, not the contract
The right model follows from how the work is done. Ask four questions before anything else.
A defined deliverable, done independently, points to a freelance mission. An ongoing role, directed by you, points to employment: through an employer of record, or your own entity if you already have one.
Option 1 · A freelancer on a mission
On FreelanX Marketplace you describe the need, compare real profiles with reasons and agree a contract with milestones. For a fixed-price mission, the company pays the whole contract when it is signed, or funds each milestone before work on it starts. Either way, FreelanX holds the money and releases each milestone to the freelancer when it is approved.
Option 2 · An employee through an EOR
FreelanX EOR employs the person in their country: local contract, payroll, taxes and mandatory benefits. You choose the person and manage the work, without opening an entity.
Option 3 · Your own entity
Opening your own company in the country makes sense when you employ several people there for the long term, or need a local presence to sell. It takes time and running costs that depend on the country. Many companies start with an employer of record, then move to their own entity when the team grows.
Contractors you already work with
For independent contractors you engage directly, FreelanX Contractors costs $19 per contractor per month. If you want the engagement and its compliance carried for you, contractor of record costs $279 per contractor per month.
