Every mission says where the client is based and where the work can be done. Filter on both and know, before you apply, whether a mission is open to you.
Missions are shown publicly; applying needs an account.
Two different questions
The client’s country tells you who you work for: a company based in Germany, Canada or Singapore. The work location tells you where the work can be done: remote from anywhere, remote within a region or a time-zone window, hybrid or on site in a given city. A mission always states both.
Client in Germany · open to EuropeRemote, for freelancers based in Europe
Client in Canada · UTC−5 to UTC+1Remote, with working hours that overlap
Client in France · on site in ParisOn site, in the city stated
Examples of how a mission states the two places.
Missions open to your country
Your profile states your country. Filter on missions open to it, or on a time-zone window you can work in, and the list keeps only what you can actually apply to. Saved searches keep the same filter.
Getting paid by a client abroad
Wherever the client is, the payment goes through FreelanX. For a fixed-price mission, the company pays the whole contract when it is signed, or funds each milestone before work on it starts. Either way, FreelanX holds the money and releases each milestone to the freelancer when it is approved.
Your fee5% on a mission found on FreelanX, 1% on a client you bring yourself
InvoicesIssued automatically for each payment
Withdrawal1 to 3 business days, with no minimum
Your status and your taxes
As a freelancer you stay independent, wherever your clients are. Your own country’s rules decide how you declare what you earn; FreelanX does not give tax advice.
If a client wants to employ you rather than contract you, FreelanX EOR can employ you in your country, in 50+ countries.
