A clear remote work policy: eligibility, place of work and cross-border rules, working time and right to disconnect, equipment and costs, health and safety, and security.
Applies to: [all employees / roles listed] · Owner: [People team] · Effective: [date] · Review: every [12] months
This policy sets how we work remotely, so that everyone is treated fairly and works safely and productively, wherever they are.
2.1 Roles that can be performed remotely are listed in [annex]. Remote work is [fully remote / hybrid with [n] days on site].
2.2 Requests are answered in writing within [30] days; refusals give business reasons.
3.1 Each person has a registered place of work in their country of employment.
3.2 Working from another country for more than [10] working days a year needs prior written approval, because tax, social security, immigration and employment law depend on where the work is done.
4.1 Working hours follow the employment contract and local law. Core collaboration hours are [hours, time zone].
4.2 People have the right to disconnect outside their working hours, except for agreed on-call duties.
5.1 [Company] provides [laptop, screen, headset] under the equipment agreement.
5.2 [Company] contributes [amount] per month to home-office costs [or reimburses agreed costs], in line with local law.

6.2 Accidents during working time are reported as work accidents.
Follow the IT security policy: encrypted devices, no public Wi-Fi without VPN, screens locked, confidential calls in private.
Performance is assessed on outcomes, the same way for remote and on-site people. Teams agree response times and the channels for urgent matters.
[Company] may review this policy with notice and consultation where the law requires it.
